Thanksgiving Harvest Bags: Shoppers must sign up during Open Hours the first 3 weeks of November.

WHO WE SERVE: Community members from all surrounding towns, with the most shoppers coming from Putney, Dummerston, Westminster, and Brattleboro.

  • Upwards of 185 households shop during Open Hours each week, with over 9,000 visits to the Foodshelf in 2025. That’s a 300% increase over the past five years — service has quadrupled.

  • In 2025 more than 240,000 pounds of food were distributed, which is about two tons of food each week.

  • ​The Food4Kids program at Putney Central School serves around 165 students & staff weekly. Uniquely designed to reduce stigma to food access, everyone is encouraged to take part.
